The Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) is an initiative designed to reduce litter and improve recycling efforts across Victoria. Through the scheme, individuals can return eligible beverage containers for a 10-cent refund. But did you know that you can use this initiative to support our local community?
As part of the scheme, the Sandringham Life Saving Club is a donation partner with the Return It program to raise funds that will help support our ongoing work to keep our beaches safe and serve our community.
How You Can Help
It’s easy to help us raise funds while participating in the Container Deposit Scheme:
- Download the CDS VIC East App
Head over to www.returnit.com.au/vic/cds-vic-east-app and download the app to your smartphone. It’s free and simple to use! - Search for Sandringham Life Saving Club
Once the app is installed, search for Sandringham Life Saving Club in the donation partners section. - Donate Your Refunds
After you collect your containers and get your 10-cent refund, you can choose to donate the refund directly to the Sandringham Life Saving Club through the app.
Every little bit helps, and your donation goes directly towards supporting the vital work our volunteers do on the beach, from training new lifesavers to ensuring safety patrols are always on duty.
